OTTAWA and TORONTO – Through a series of casual chats on Parliament Hill, Environment Minister Jim Prentice has personally invited his opposition critics to join him at the UN's global climate-change talks taking place next week in Poland.
It is a small but symbolic gesture that signals a clear change in tone on the environment file
If the government had acted more like this while still advancing the Conservative agenda in a less agressive way, we might not be staring into the abyss!

Oh for the love one political coup undermining the populat will at a time please.
We have opposition benches filled with traitors we don't need any in the only rational alternative.
Are you accepting donations? I bet I can get your thousands from Liberals and Dippers thrilled to see your party in shambles!
On a less partisan note, if there was one MP in the Conservative caucus that I don't hate, it's probably Jim Prentice.
Reach out to the commies... sounds like Prentice to me.
Precisely why he will never be leader of a Conservative Party
Push Conservative agenda in a less aggressive way?!
We haven't pushed the Conservative agenda at all under Harper!
I think you guys are advocating being Liberals
I certainly hope Prentice will skewer the Liberals who set this up. Our party will not be divided. Not now, not ever. If this IS some misguided Prentice supporter, show some tact and take this down.
If you truly want Jimbo to be the next PM, you will take this down. You are hurting his cause by pissing off all of us real Conservatives.
We have all suspected his ambition before, this just confirms it.
Real Conservatives put principle over power. You guys should try it some time
Besides, the only reason Prentice would be inviting his critics to Poland from Dec 1-12 is to get opposition votes out of the House before Dec 8. Nice try.
If Prentice would be sincere in putting the 'progressive' back into the Conservative vernacular, then an old red tory such as myself may be enticed to return to the fold. Western populism with its not so thin veneer of intolerance, xenophobia and christian overtones has always been a no-go zone for many of us. Two thumbs up to this honourable endeavour.
If you think this Conservative Party has been intolerant, you should go join the Liberals.
If anything, this Conservative Party has abandoned all of its Reform/Alliance principles.
If you think the answer is to move further to the left, then we truly will have no Conservative Party in Canada
This Party fostersan environment of intolerance then does little or nothing to repress it. As always, this plays to a certain element of our Canadian fabric, but alienates many more then it impresses. What do you think two consecutive minorities have been all about anyway?
I dunno, grinning Jim looks like he eats babies for breakfast.
Careful what you wish for.
As Jim Prentice’s riding president and campaign manager in the recent federal election, I feel it necessary to make several points to those who are posting on this blog as well as the architects of this site. First and foremost is the fact that this site is neither endorsed, supported nor in any way encouraged by Mr. Prentice, nor any of the people who work or volunteer for him – in fact quite the opposite is true.
It is unfortunate that at a time when conservatives need to be working together to prevent what is a desperate power play by the opposition to seize control of our democratically elected government, that a site like this would be created. All conservatives and any Canadians who believe in democracy and the importance of stability during this time of economic crisis should follow Mr. Prentice’s unwavering support of and loyalty to our leader and our Prime Minister, Stephen Harper.

Prime Minister Harper shows alacrity and passion when his political neck is on the line, but never on national issues.
He is going to prorogue Parliament because that's what people like Harper do. They are in politics because it's the only place where their pathological egos seem almost normal, but only for a time. Jim Prentice for PM!
PC take over, pure and simple. You commies are never getting a hold of my party. Why don't you soft lefties just join the bloc, libs and ndp in their coalition you shifty socialists. A PCer will never lead this party. You're a traitor.
We have nothing to gain by keeping Harper in power. Based on 3 years of experience, we can expect nothing but bullying, lying, obstruction, and secrecy from our party, plus a ridiculous hands-off economic policy. Harper is unfit to govern and has no right to prorogue at a time like this! Fall on your sword Mr Harper. Jim Prentice is the man for these troubled times.
I'm a disaffected former Progressive Conservative, former Conservative, who would rejoin the CPC in an instant if Prentice led it.
Count me in!
I find it funny that the first anonymous comment is accusing the opposition of being traitors, seeing as Harper has no clue of how the Canadian parliamentary system works. Essentially his idiocy in plunging this country into a political crisis, during an economic crisis, shows that he's the biggest traitor to this country. Yet I'm hardly surprised that the average Conbot can't see this. Their values tend to be far outside of the Canadian mainstream.
Hear, hear!

David Higginbotham, as an Albertan living in Prentice's riding, I despise Harper and the rightwing extremists he caters to. Prentice would be a better, more intelligent leader. Not that I will vote for any Conservatives until they stop selling us out to the Americans.
Let's keep Canada's resources in Canada for the benefit of Canadians.
As a long-time Conservative - Reform and CA before that - I applaud this site.
Harper has been stifling the Conservative Party for too long. The man behaves like a dictator, and half his "loyalists" are just robots.
Time to start planning for a post-Harper Conservative Party NOW.

Prentice is the obvious choice! If we are to gain the peoples trust we need to project a better image.
Show your support and give our party a chance.
Harper stabbed us in the back, we supported him and he stabbed us in the back. He is bringing the Reform image back and it is going to kill us.
Jim will be able to bring the conservative party much further along, with out outraging the nation!
Clearly, those who set up this site are anti-Conservative, as well as anti-Prentice, as this site obviously would hurt Prentice's chances at leadership due to it's poor taste, bad timing, and lack of party loyalty.
Stephen Harper has done a great deal for the Conservative Party, but many Conservatives have been uncomfortable with his top-down style of governing that is not faithful to the party's grassroots.
Now, Harper and his advisers have jeopardized the current Conservative government by provoking the opposition parties. If nothing is done, the opposition parties will seize control of the government, permanently damaging the Conservative cause and putting the country in the unsteady hands of an unstable coalition government.
The only solution to this crisis is for Harper to resign and to be immediately replaced by someone who can act as a honest broker with the opposition parties.
This is the only way a Conservative government can stay in power and keep the country on the right track.
Now is the time for Stephen Harper to honour himself and the Conservative Party by stepping aside.
To help make this happen, sign our petition and e-mail other Conservatives to tell them to do the same.
This website is a hoax, it was created by:
Jeff Monaghan
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Monaghan
just some silly sour grapes here
Any proof?
Ron Paul 2009 for PM!
any proof on the Jeff Monaghan accusation? Wiki is hardly suitable. Until that I believe this is the real deal. Good to see the grassroots is still alive and well across this great country!
Despite the protests, Hang in.
Harper was on CBC with Mansbridge.
What a disgrace. He is destroying the party with his arrogance.
Everyone could see he was not telling the truth.
There is a need for rational conservative thought in government. Harper is demonstrating that he is radical and deceitful. We need to be ready. The Liberals are not the only party that needs to change leaders. We do to.
